Spring has Sprung

Spring is in the air and its so nice to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. After the crazy warm winter we had who would have thought it would be hard to find a nice sunny and warm evening. Luckily, when it came time for the Glen family to have their photos done, we got just that. We dodged sprinklers and braved gnats all while having some laughs with their sweet dogs and in the end got some wonderful family photos. Thanks guys.

It’s that time of year.

Things are getting busy…it’s that time of year when high school seniors are gearing up for well… just about everything. College the future and all the fun and exciting things that go along with their senior year. For me that means high school senior pictures…some of my favorite sessions to shoot! Today I’m posting Devon’s senior session. We went to downtown Richmond and had a lot of fun looking for cool little spots to get photos. Thanks Devon for being a wonderful model and here’s to a great senior year.

My Girl

Snips and snails and puppy dog tails – that’s what I’ve got. Football, guns, motocross, Lego’s and cars – that’s what I’ve got. And don’t get me wrong,  I LOVE them (my boys) and all their boy stuff like I never knew I could….but sometimes I yearn for a little girl time.

Lucky for me I’ve got some really special girls in my life. My niece Anna, Sophie and Addie, and my newest girl Aaliyah. Like all my girls, I like to take a lot of pictures of Aaliyah. I’m sure we’ll be seeing her quite often on the blog. I’m really very fortunate to be able to document her first year of life.

Here’s my girl Aaliyah – 4 months old.

The Chins

Doing family sessions is always fun. I love to see family dynamics…how everyone relates to each other and all their little  quirks…who’s the shy one…who’s the silly one. The Chin family was just great. Everyone was happy and up for getting their photos taken and just a joy to work with. You can’t beat that! They had a wonderful connection that made capturing their family really special. As you can see we had an awesome session and I was tickled with the results. Here’s to the Chin family…

Check out the slide show to see more from their session.

One Last Ray of Summer Sunshine

As I’m sitting here writing this blog the rain has finally stopped (thanks Lee) and the kids are off to their first days of school. As excited as I am for them…. I’m definitely missing my boys and summer just a little bit. So….here’s my last little ray of summer sunshine.

Randi is one of my closest friends. The kind you’ve know most of your life and even though there may be times your don’t see each other often, you can always start right back where you left off. This summer, when Randi’s family rented a beach house for vacation, they rented 2 blocks from my families beach house!! Our kids were so happy….did I mention that her boys and my boys are also the best of friends ?!  I was very excited when she asked me to do some beach photos for her family….all 17 of them. It was great fun and we got some really beautiful photos. So many to choose from…

Check out this fun video of the shoot.
